There are Company and Order rules applicable to the direct shipment of wine to other states. WineDirect Compliance includes both off-site and on-site rules. Off-site conventionally refers to wine purchased for consumption off the licensed premises of the retailer or winery selling the wine. For the purpose of WineDirect Compliance, it refers to purchases made from a location other than at the winery itself (internet, phone, or fax orders). On-site conventionally refers to wine purchased for consumption on the licensed premises, such as at a restaurant or pub. For the purpose of WineDirect Compliance, it refers to purchases made while at the winery itself (Tasting room or Point-of-Sale).
WineDirect compliance rules consist of rule families and rule types. Rule Families are hard coded in the system. These are reporting, volume limit, License/Permit, Marketing, Shipping Label, Consumer data, and Shipping. Rule Types can only be assigned to one Rule Family at a time.
